Assam woman drugged and gang-raped by nine people

In a shocking incident, a woman was raped by a group of nine men on the pretext of her job. The incident took place in the Tapabari char, Hajo.

Reportedly, the victim was lured by the main accused, Altaf, a cab driver, and his eight associates, but instead was subjected to a brutal assault. After which they took her to an undisclosed location. There, they allegedly drugged the woman and raped her throughout the night. Later, the nine-member gang left the traumatized victim on the road and fled.

Police have arrested five people in connection with the case, including Abdul Hamid, Imran Hussain, Abdul Jalil, Afazuddin, and Saidul Rahman. However, the main accused, Altaf, remains at large, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend him.

The victim hails from Dhemaji. The arrested accused are in police custody for further investigation.
