BSF detain 10 Bangladeshi, one Indian from Tripura

The Border Security Force (BSF) and Government Railway Police detained 10 Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian facilitator in Tripura on Tuesday.

According to a BSF press release, on August 13th, based on specific intelligence, the BSF’s Anti-Human Trafficking and intelligence units conducted a surveillance operation targeting suspected crossing points in the Amtali and Dukli areas of West Tripura. Around 5:15 AM, the BSF team, in collaboration with other agencies, apprehended four Bangladeshi women, including a baby. Later, around 8:00 AM, the joint team detained six more Bangladeshi nationals along with an Indian individual suspected of being involved in facilitating their illegal entry.

Initially, the detained individuals claimed to be Indian citizens, presenting fake Aadhar cards as proof. However, during preliminary questioning, they admitted to being Bangladeshi nationals. Further interrogation is underway by the BSF and Government Railway Police. The BSF has intensified efforts to dismantle the network of facilitators involved in the illegal entry of Bangladeshi nationals into Tripura, as stated in the press release.
