BTR EM Wilson Hasda Pays Tribute to Late AASAA President Pradeep Nag

Kokrajhar, April 10: In a heartfelt tribute, Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Executive Member Wilson Hasda expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Pradeep Nag, the President of the All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA), who passed away on April 8 at the age of 48.

Wilson Hasda, who also hails from the Adivasi community, described Pradeep Nag as a “tireless voice for the rights and recognition of the Adivasi people of Assam.” Extending condolences to the bereaved family and members of AASAA, Hasda said, “His contributions to the upliftment of our community and his relentless advocacy for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status will always be remembered. His sudden demise is a big loss for Assam’s Adivasi movement.”

Pradeep Nag was widely respected for his leadership within AASAA and for his active role in demanding socio-political rights for Adivasis, especially those working in Assam’s tea gardens. Throughout his tenure, he consistently pushed for justice, identity, and inclusion of his people within the broader Assamese society.

Nag’s passing has left a significant void in Assam’s socio-political landscape, particularly among student and community organizations. Leaders and activists from across the state have joined in mourning, reflecting on his impactful journey and the legacy he leaves behind.
