GUWAHATI: Atleast 36 lakh people across 26 districts are affected by the flood in Assam as reported by a Newspaper.
So far, 92 people have died in flood-related incidents in the state, it said. While 66 people died in floods, 26 were killed in landslides.
Meanwhile, various organisations and communities has come forward to help the victims of the devastating Assam flood.
One such story is of BTS Army India, BTS Army North-East India and @BTSARMYhelpsindia, fan based communities of Kpop Boy band BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan). The above mentioned BTS Fan Clubs started a campaign and fundraiser for Assam Floods and have already raised almost Rs. 5 Lakh for the cause. The fans of BTS from all over India and across the globe donated for this cause.
It all started when a BTS fan from Assam tweeted about the devastating condition of the State due to the floods and how the Central Government and National Media has been maintaining a blindfolded attitude towards the issue. The tweet came into focus of the other BTS Fans across the globe and all of them decided to pool in resources to start a fundraiser campaign and that’s how it started.
