Bye-Polls For Koklabari Constituency On June 8

The Assam State Election Commission has decided to hold bye elections for 22 Koklabari (ST) BTC Constituency, 2022 of Baksa district.

Addressing a press conference, Assam state election commissioner, Alok Kumar issued the notification to conduct the bye poll for Koklabari constituency in Baksa district with effect from Thursday. The last date of the nomination is fixed on May 23, scrutinisation on May 24 and poll on June 8. The counting will be taking place on June 12. The total numbers of voters are 72,416 and the total number of polling stations is 97.

Notably, the bye poll in Koklabari constituency has been necessitated following BTR CEM Pramod Boro resignation as MCLA from Koklabari constituency after being elected as MCLA from Goybari constituency after holding the existing BTR CEM position.

Ruling UPPL party hailed the bye poll date announcement by the state election commission.
