Community Unites for Cleanliness and Sustainability on the Eve of the 76th Republic Day
The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Guwahati, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organized a community-centric event celebrating the themes of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ and ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. Held at the Akashwani campus in Chandmari, the programme united local residents, families, and officials from all organizations under Ministry of I&B in a shared commitment to cleanliness and tree plantation in the spirit of the 76th Republic Day.
A hallmark of the event was the active participation of the families from the Akashvani Colony, who collaborated in a large-scale cleanliness drive. The community took part in cleaning public spaces, encouraging an attitude of responsibility toward hygiene and waste management in their surroundings.
Another highlight was a tree plantation activity in which community members planted saplings, symbolizing their collective pledge toward environmental preservation and ecological balance.
