In today’s edition of things never seen before, a rare fish weighing around 800 kg was caught in Digha, West Bengal. The fish, known as Chilshankar fish, is in high demand this season and was caught in a trawler in Digha.

The fish belongs to a rare species and Digha’s fishermen are ecstatic about the discovery since it is the first time they have caught it.  What makes it even amazing is that it is shaped like a flying ship.

The huge black fish was caught in a trawler which is owned by an Orissa man. Catching the rare fish became such a big deal that tourists and locals gathered to see how huge it was.

Since it was so heavy, it could not be moved right away. Ropes were used to move it from one place to another. The fish was tied with ropes and carried to a van by the fishermen and then the vehicle was taken to the Mohana Fisher’s Association.

Once it was brought to the market, the rare fish was auctioned for more than Rs 20 lakh. The market value of the fish is Rs 2,100 per kg.
