EDII–Accenture Micro Skillpreneurship Program Empowers 55 Rural Women with Advanced Handloom Weaving Skills at Morongabari
GUWAHATI : The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), in collaboration with Accenture, proudly announces the successful completion of its 26-days Micro Skillpreneurship Program (MSDP) focused on Handloom (Weaving) with jacquard machine. The valedictory function, held on 06th January 2026, celebrated the dedication and hard work of 55 women participants who have now completed the training program and received their completion certificates. The event marked a significant milestone in the journey of these women beneficiaries, who are now equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to create diversified products and to contribute to local economies. During the program, participants learned the intricate processes of producing various types of Handloom wearable & home furnishing products emphasizing quality control and marketing strategies for small businesses. Keynote speakers at the event included representatives from EDII and local youths & Gaon panchayat representative, who spoke on the importance of empowering women through skill development and entrepreneurship. They highlighted how this program not only enhances the participants’ livelihood prospects but also encourages them to become role models in their communities.
“This program has been more than just a training; it has ignited a passion for entrepreneurship among these women. We believe that empowering women is essential for holistic community development,” said Ratan Guha, Program Manager, EDII, NERO, a representative from the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India.
The valedictory ceremony wrapped up with the distribution of completion certificates to all participants, signifying their commitment to personal growth and entrepreneurship. Families, local community members, and officials gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of these inspiring women.
