As the world reels under the fear of pandemic, DPS Jorhat has been pushing boundaries in the endeavor to provide education for its students. Since first week of April, DPS Jorhat started off with their online classes via CISCO WEBEX. Also a virtual resource pool webpage “Elysium” was created for smooth exchange of digital educational materials amidst students and teacher. As DPS Jorhat encouraged the idea of Home Schooling in these dire times,the webpage consists of Video Tutorials and Digital Class Work and Assignment materials which the students and parents can securely access at their own leisure from the safety of their homes. DPS Jorhat also meticulously integrated the provision of Online Examination into their COVID-19 educational strategy and successfully conducted their first phase of online examination in the month of June.The students were introduced to a virtual feel of a real life examination scenario wherein they were monitored virtually as they were taking examinations from home.
Along with academics, DPS Jorhat also equally encouraged the deployment of co-scholastic activities for its students to keep their creativity going on. DPS Jorhat conducted ‘Virtual Rhapsody-A World beyond Books’ which was a conglomerate of fun filled activities and inspirational webinar’s. It was a 10 day session which carried out activities such as Dramatics, Photography, Music, Cooking, Public Speaking and Fine Arts via Virtual Platforms. Webinars on Music, Films, Space, Fashion and Sports was conducted by experts in the respective fields and they were streamed live on official Facebook page for everyone to be a part of it. Students were enthralled with the 10 day session. As we move ahead, DPS Jorhat will keep the wheel of education and spark of creativity going on for its students till the world stabilizes into normalcy.
