KOKRAJHAR: BTC EM Wilson Hasda on Tuesday inaugurated the Zila Sainik Welfare Office Community hall in the Kokrajhar district of Assam.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by the Director of Sainik Welfare, Assam, Brigadier Joshi Narain Dutt Ganesh Dutt, SM (Retd.) & Capt. Karna Kumar Brahma. Also, ex-servicemen, widows and other notable personalities of the department were present on the special occasion.

Also, took part in a plantation drive along with the present dignitaries as part of the #Assam CM’s Institutional Plantation programme. The new Community Hall will definitely be helpful to ex-servicemen & widows of the martyrs.

Director of Sainik Welfare of Assam Brigadier Joshi Narain Dutt said that the Zilla Sainik Welfare Office will cater necessary assistance and resolve the basic problems of ex-servicemen, widows and their dependents pertaining to pension and administrative work. He also said the Zilla Sainik Welfare Office will carry out awareness and counselling to the students and youths interested in a career in the armed forces. He also said the office will explore avenues for providing different types of educational and vocational opportunities to the ex-servicemen and their dependents.

 

Inaugurating the office, BTR executive member Wilson Hasda extended his congratulations to ex-servicemen and said that the inauguration of the office building of the Zila Sainik Welfare Office is a significant move to ensure the welfare of ex-servicemen and to honour their services rendered to the nation.

It may be mentioned that the EM also took part in a plantation drive during the inauguration program as part of the Assam Chief Ministers Institutional Plantation programme.
