The Barpeta Police on Friday seized FICN (Fake Indian Currency Notes) worth several lakhs of rupees and fake note
printing machines from Goremari bajar area under the district. The police also arrested two in connection with the
seizure.
Acting on a tip off a team of Barpeta Police conducted a raid in a house to seize the FICN and machines. Police detained
Rakibul Hussain and Junab Ali.
Police Informed that FICN were seized in the denomination of Rs. 500 and Rs. 2000 amounting around Rs. 2 lakhs. A case
has been registered regarding the incident. Further investigation is being conducted.
