Guwahati Blast || ULFA-I Claims Responsibility

As per reports, ULFA-I Commander-in-Chief Paresh Baruah has taken the responsibility of the blast and claimed that it was an attack on CRPF patrolling party. The blast took place near the Guwahati Central shopping mall located at RG Baruah road.

It may be mentioned that on May 15th, 2019 at around 8 pm an explosion rocked the Guwahati city leaving at least eleven injured.

Two of the injured have been identified as Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan Amulya Ratan Mahato and Ramesh Lal. The other injured are Fardeen Hasnain Rahman, Ahmed Kumar, Amit Kansal, Riya Kansal, Hirakjyoti Baruah, Kalyan Baishya, Adward Mama, Bijay Kumar Shah and Sultan Jahidur Rahman. They are undergoing treatment at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), KGMT Hospital and Nemcare Super Speciality Hospital.

As per eyewitnesses, the bomb was lobbed from a motorbike towards the temporary security manned in front of the shopping mall.

Police have cordoned off the area and have started their investigations. A high alert has been declared in Guwahati following the blast. All entry and exit routes have been put under surveillance.
