Guwahati Half Marathon 25 Sees Over 4,000 Runners Join Forces for a Cause, Guwahati Times Partners as Official Media
Guwahati: The Guwahati Half Marathon 2025, one of the region’s most awaited annual sporting events, witnessed an overwhelming participation of more than 4,000 runners from across Assam and neighboring states. Organized by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati as part of its annual Techno-Management Festival Techniche, the marathon was held under the impactful theme “Run for Zero Hunger,” aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal to end hunger.

The event featured three categories tailored for different age groups and fitness levels — the 21-km Glory Run, the 10-km Spirit Run, and the 5-km Fun Run. Participants included students, working professionals, amateur runners, and seasoned athletes, all united by a common cause to raise awareness around food insecurity and inspire collective community action.

The marathon began from the IIT Guwahati campus and wound through a thoughtfully designed route, offering participants a scenic yet challenging course. Volunteers and on-ground teams ensured smooth coordination and hydration points, while citizens turned out in large numbers to cheer the runners, adding to the festive spirit of the event.
Guwahati Times was proud to serve as the official media partner for the event, actively supporting the campaign.

With every edition, the Guwahati Half Marathon continues to grow both in scale and impact, fostering a culture of awareness, health, and social responsibility.
