Bengaluru-based model and dancer shares her inspiring journey from stage arts to the national pageant spotlight

Guwahati: In a special interview with Guwahati Times, Harini Anand, a dynamic talent from Karnataka, opened up about her journey as a finalist in the much-anticipated Miss Grand India 2025. Representing her home state with pride, Harini’s blend of discipline, artistry, and cultural depth has made her a standout in this year’s national pageant.

Born and brought up in Bengaluru to parents Nandini Anand and Anand Babu G A, Harini completed her schooling at Ryan International School, Kundalahalli. She pursued a BA in Liberal Arts from Christ University, Bannerghatta Road campus, and is currently advancing her academic journey with a Master’s degree in Bharatanatyam—a testament to her deep connection with classical dance and Indian culture.

Professionally, Harini Anand wears multiple hats as a model and a trained dancer. “I have always loved the stage. It gave me the opportunity to be myself confidently without being worried about being judged,” she said. “I explored all stage arts and that’s when I also wanted to try my hands in modelling.”

Her modeling journey began in college, and she hasn’t looked back since. “My parents wished I complete my basic education and then pursue a career in modelling. So in my 5th semester of college, I moved ahead with my dreams.” Harini has worked with brands like Amazon and Don Julio, and graced the runway for labels such as Klook, Keech, Mr. Bowerbird, and House of Pataudi.

Harini’s journey in pageantry began early. “It started in grade 10. Last year, I participated in a local pageant in Bangalore and won it. This year, I was among the top 5 in Miss Universe Karnataka,” she shared, adding, “I’m glad to be representing my state in the national finale of Miss Grand India 2025.”

Support from her family has played a key role in her progress. “They’ve been very, very supportive in each and every step. All they wish is to see me happy. They believed in my capabilities even before the world could see it,” Harini noted.

Reflecting on her Miss Grand Karnataka journey, she described it as “an amazing experience.” Now, as a national finalist, she admitted, “It’s really overwhelming and yet at the same time exciting. I feel the butterflies within.”

Outside the pageant world, Harini is a woman of many talents. “I’m a professional dancer, so dancing means the world to me. Apart from that, I love chess—I’ve been a state-level player. I also practice yoga and have earned a trainer certificate from The Yoga Institute, Delhi.”

When asked about representing Karnataka on the national stage, Harini emphasized that culture goes beyond appearance. “I believe one showcases their cultural roots not only through attire but also through ethics and values. I strive to reflect what my culture has given me—on and off stage—through my personality and style.”

Harini’s message to the people of Karnataka—and to all—was simple yet profound: “Believe in yourself and the process. Work hard and trust the universe. Things beyond your imagination await to embrace you.”

Her inspiration comes from the most heartfelt places. “My greatest inspirations have always been my pets. They’ve taught me to live in the moment, give everything you have, and expect nothing in return. I also look up to my parents—they’ve been pillars of support. Their own lives are examples that with determination, anything is possible.”

On preparation for the national stage, Harini revealed, “I’m someone who is very organised. I’ve prepared my mind and body over time for this moment. Yoga, gym, long drives, and a scheduled routine have helped me stay balanced mentally, physically, and emotionally.”

As Karnataka’s proud representative, Harini Anand is poised to bring not just beauty and grace, but substance and soul to the Miss Grand India 2025 platform.
