In reaction to a remark of Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma over a recent rumor that former Congress minister Rokibul Hussain will quit the Congress party and will join Asom Gana Parishad soon, the former powerful Congress leader Rokibul Hussain said what CM Dr Sarma said is right as he knows him very well. I will never quit Congress at any point, Hussain said, adding that the chief minister knew him as he would never be able to quit the Congress party. He said that the news of his joining the ruling alliance partner AGP was just a rumor and he would continue his service as a Congress worker in the state politics. The Congress party made many mistakes during the last few years and I want to correct all those mistakes on the party floor, Hussain said.

Referring to the resignation letter of former state Congress party – Ripun Bora, Hussain said that he supported 80 percent of his allegiance while he had objections against the rest. Bora lifted a blunder by kicking off the party floor, Hussain said, adding further that the Congress party would be strong in the state soon again.
