Guwahati, 16 June 2025: “I proudly declare that I am a swayamsevak of the RSS. RSS runs through every vein in my body. RSS means welfare of all and service to all.” This statement was made by Assam BJP President Dilip Saikia during an interaction with the press today.
Responding to Assam Congress President Gaurav Gogoi’s attempts to malign the RSS, Saikia asserted, “If I have learned to donate blood 36 times, it is because the RSS taught me. When Rahul Gandhi’s Wayanad faced a crisis, the first to come forward to help the victims were members of the RSS. During the recent Ahmedabad tragedy, too, swayamsevaks were on the ground providing aid. Whenever a disaster strikes the country, it is the RSS volunteers who are first to respond .”
Saikia further stated that even Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, visited an RSS camp in Wardha, Maharashtra in 1934 and made appreciative remarks about the organization . Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, also permitted RSS participation in the national parade —a historical fact Gaurav Gogoi should study.
Taking a dig at Gogoi, Saikia said, “Those who have spent half their lives in air-conditioned rooms can never truly understand what the RSS is or what it does. The RSS works among the common people .” He also remarked, “This isn’t just a passing statement by them. It’s a planned narrative they are trying to build deliberately. I pray they are blessed with good sense soon.”
Criticizing the Congress, Saikia remarked that “some people are now acting overly enthusiastic— as if only their signatures are pending. You can read their intentions just by observing their body language.”
Quoting an Assamese proverb, he said about Gogoi: “Bhaba kotha nohoi, siddhi batot ase kona bidhi” (Translation: “It’s not just about thinking, but the process of achievement is underway”).
Saikia continued his sharp attack by saying, “Gaurav Gogoi performs namaz, recites the Kalima, and many people pray for him. But had he chanted kirtan too, the public would have appreciated him more.”
“If Gaurav Gogoi continues criticizing the RSS in this manner, we will become even more active,” warned Saikia. He further alleged that Gaurav Gogoi has been accused of being an agent of the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) and that his wife works under ISI supervision. “ Expecting to hear the truth about the RSS from someone like him is foolish,” he said.
“The more Gaurav Gogoi abuses the RSS, the stronger our nationalist force will grow. The recent election results in Maharashtra and Haryana have proven this fact. Gaurav Gogoi understands it well and that’s why he’s attempting such misleading propaganda,” Saikia concluded.
