IndiGo to Launch Direct Delhi–Jorhat Flights from September 20, Adds New Routes in Assam
In a major boost to air connectivity in Assam, IndiGo Airlines is set to commence direct flights between Delhi and Jorhat from September 20, 2025. The announcement marks a significant development for Upper Assam, offering faster and more convenient travel options for passengers commuting between the national capital and the region.
The decision was revealed following discussions between Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and IndiGo’s management. According to an official statement, IndiGo has also agreed to operate flights on several other critical routes in Assam including:
- Guwahati to Tezpur
- Guwahati to Rupsi
- Guwahati to Lilabari
These proposed additions aim to strengthen intra-state air connectivity and improve accessibility to remote areas of Assam. The Chief Minister has also urged the airline to explore operations on the Dibrugarh–Tezpur and Tezpur–Rupsi sectors, further integrating the state’s aviation network.
The upcoming launch of the Delhi–Jorhat route, along with enhanced regional connectivity, is expected to significantly benefit both business and tourism sectors in Assam.
