On Monday, officials from the Assam forest department found the carcass of a full-grown rhino in the Kathpara forest camp area of the Bagori range in Kaziranga National Park.

Earlier in January 2023, the Assam government claimed, no rhino poaching incidents were reported in 2022, giving hope to conservationists, their efforts to protect these animals were having a positive impact.
