Koch-Rajbongshi Students’ Union formed at Rani

GUWAHATI,Sept 1: A new regional unit of the Koch-Rajbongshi Students’ Union was formed at Rani on Sunday. The body was constituted during a general meeting held at Rani High School under the chairmanship of Chakradhar Thakuria.
The session was attended by Ratneswar Patowary, Assistant General Secretary of the All Koch-Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU) central committee, along with Bimal Das, President of the South Kamrup District Committee, and several other office-bearers.
In the newly formed 31-member committee, Pranab Das was elected as President, while Rajani Das and Paragjyoti Das were chosen as Joint General Secretaries.
Expressing satisfaction over the formation, the AKRSU central leadership stated that the Rani regional unit would play a vital role in uniting and addressing the concerns of the Koch-Rajbongshi community in the area.
Notably, the greater Rani region is home to more than 6,000 Koch-Rajbongshi people. The newly elected office-bearers pledged to work diligently for the welfare and rights of their community in the coming days.
