Lai Khuta of 79th Palasbari Raas Mahotsav erected

PALASBARI,Oct 7: The lai khuta for the historic 79th Palasbari Raas Mahotsav was ceremonially erected at the festival grounds in new market of Palasbari on Monday. The event began at 11:30 a.m with the lai khuta being installed by the president of the Palasbari Raas Mahotsav Committee, Monimay Kar.
Speaking on the occasion, Kar announced that the grand 15-day celebration of Sri Sri Krishna Raas Leela will be held from November 5 to November 19 and called upon the public to join hands in making the event a success.
The foundation ceremony was organized under the supervision of the joint general secretaries Pankaj Das and Arup Das, attended by several dignitaries including executive president Lakhi Kakoti, general secretary Satyajit Kalita, treasurer Bipul Das, and Raaskria editors Naba Kumar Bora and Dilip Kumar Das among others. A large number of local residents were also present.
Earlier, on July 13, a 37-member executive committee was formed during the general meeting of the Palasbari Raas Mahotsav. The meeting appointed Monimay Kar as president, Lakhi Kakoti as executive president, Jiten Kalita and Chabin Kalita as vice-presidents, Pankaj Das and Arup Das as joint general secretaries and Satyajit Kalita, Pankaj Kumar and Tapan Kumar as secretaries.
The newly formed committee has already intensified preparations for the upcoming Raas Mahotsav. The organizers have urged the public to extend their cooperation to ensure the success of this long-cherished cultural celebration of Palasbari.
