Man Shocked After Finding Beef in Korean Noodles at Guwahati Mall Outlet; Investigation Underway

Guwahati | June 22, 2025:
A serious incident has surfaced from City Center Shopping Mall in Guwahati after a customer discovered beef content in a Korean noodle product being sold at a food outlet named K-Food Antenna, located on the mall’s third floor.
The discovery came to light when a customer used Google Translate to read the ingredient list printed in a foreign language on the packet, which revealed the presence of beef—prohibited in Assam. The revelation led to immediate concern and confrontation with the outlet staff.
As per eyewitness accounts, when questioned about the ingredient, the outlet’s staff responded evasively, which led to a tense situation. Sensing growing public reaction, the staff allegedly shifted all beef-based and similar products to a hidden location within the premises.
Shortly after, the outlet was shut down, and it has been reported that the management fled the scene.
Affected customers Dipankar Das, Hirak Talukdar, and Any Thappa have since approached the Dispur Police and filed an official complaint, seeking legal action against the outlet for violating state food regulations.
The incident has raised concerns about unchecked sale of imported food items without proper scrutiny and labelling, especially those that may contravene local dietary laws. Authorities are expected to initiate a full inquiry into the matter.
