Meghalaya govt opposes citizenship Amendment bill-2016

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday said that the Cabinet had already come out with an official resolution to oppose the move by the BJP led NDA to bring an amendment to the Citizenship Bill.

“There is no confusion about our stand on this issue. We were the first Government to come out with an official resolution within the Cabinet to oppose the propose Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016,” Chief Minister told reporters here today.

He added that there should not be any kind of ambiguity and confusion among the people or North East Student Organisation (NESO) about the stand of the Government.
