Miss Diva 2021 TOP 50: Interview with Assam girl Pallabi Saikia

GUWAHATI: Digboi (Tinsukia) girl Pallabi Saikia has been shortlisted in the Top 50 of Liva Miss Diva 2021 from over thousands of entries on Monday.

Early Life, Education:

Saikia is a student of Dept. Of Chemistry in Digboi College. She did her schooling and HS from Little Stars Senior Secondary School, Digboi.

“During my school days, I pursued Visarath at Bharatnatyam and Sattriya dance along with Visharath in singing. I had been performing in many Theaters and Bhauna. I am a trained Borgeet singer and I can play Khool and Tabla,” Pallabi Saikia told Guwahati Times.

“After I joined college, things went pretty smooth. I continued my modelling career alongside my bachelor’s degree. Now I am appearing 6th sem while preparing for Miss Diva at the same time,” Saikia added.

Speaking about how she entered into modelling, Saikia said, “When I was in class 12, I saw a lot of my friends on social media uploading fashionable pictures. So I wanted a photoshoot too. Later, a friend of mine came in for help and clicked few pictures and uploaded it to a fashion event that is how I got a call from them for an audition. I became the winner of that very event named Miss Axom Northeast 2018.”

 

It is to be mentioned that her modelling career started from that event. Saikia started getting calls for events and shows and later she also walked in the EAST INDIAN FASHION WEEKEND 2019 and NORTHEAST INTERNATIONAL FASHION WEEKEND 2019.

Speaking about the event, Saikia added, ” NEIFW has taught me way lot that I could ever imagine. From there I was spotted by Miss Ushoshi Sengupta (Miss India) and I got a chance to walk at PlayFest 2019.

Modelling as a career:

Modelling as a career I believe is actually very interesting. It gives you a platform where you can explore yourself. It gives you the opportunity to be the voice and face of many unheard stories.

Miss Diva journey:

It was a journey about exploring myself and reminding myself about my worth. This journey has taught me a lot. I gained a lot of confidence and knowledge about what I can be.

Message for people of Assam:

Firstly, I feel proud of myself that I was born in such a splendid place like Assam. Assam has always been a place of beauty and I want Assam and its people to be as beautiful as it is forever.

Notably, the first virtual edition of Miss Diva is on the go. The esteemed panel of judges includes Lead Pageant Stylist: Bharat Gupta, Miss Supranational 2016 and actress: Srinidhi Shetty, Hair and Make-up expert: Bianca Louzado, LIVA Miss Diva 2020 Runner-up: Neha Jaiswal, Mister Supranational 2016 2nd Runner-up: Jitesh Thakur, Miss Diva Universe 2014: Noyonita Lodh, Performing Artiste, Singer, Equal Rights Champion and Motivational speaker: Sushant Divgikar and Miss Diva Supranational 2019: Shefali Sood.

The shortlisted candidates would be further put through a round of intense shortlisting grind to arrive at the Top 20 finalists who would then go on to compete for the national crown in Mumbai.
