New terminal at Guwahati Airport nears completion, set to open by November 2025

Azara,June 23: The much-anticipated new terminal building at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport is nearing completion, with operations expected to commence by November 2025. Drawing inspiration from the region’s iconic bamboo structures and orchid motifs, the terminal showcases a unique blend of modern infrastructure and local culture.
Spanning over 140,000 square metres, the state-of-the-art facility is designed to handle up to 13.1 million passengers annually,marking a sixfold increase from the airport’s current capacity. This significant expansion is set to transform Guwahati into a key aviation hub in the Northeast.
Despite initial delays, authorities now report that construction is progressing steadily. Once operational, the new terminal is expected to greatly enhance passenger experience and boost regional connectivity.
