NTPC Bongaigaon Wins Twin National Honours for CSR and Sustainability Initiatives
Salakati (Kokrajhar), June 28: NTPC Limited, Bongaigaon has added another feather to its cap by securing two prestigious national recognitions — the 11th CSR India Award 2025 in the category of Healthcare Promotion and the 24th Global Environment & Sustainability Award 2025, both conferred by the Greentech Foundation.
These awards highlight NTPC Bongaigaon’s outstanding contributions in the areas of community health development and environmental sustainability, further cementing its role as a socially responsible and eco-conscious enterprise.
The CSR India Award recognizes NTPC Bongaigaon’s impactful healthcare initiative in Tuensang district of Nagaland, one of the most remote and underserved regions in Northeast India. The company’s comprehensive project has supported health infrastructure development, medical equipment supply, and outreach programs to ensure improved access to primary and preventive healthcare for marginalized communities.
The Environment & Sustainability Award lauds NTPC Bongaigaon’s consistent efforts in promoting ecological conservation, sustainable operations, and responsible resource management at its 750 MW power station, setting an example for environmentally mindful industrial practices.
The awards were handed over ceremonially at NTPC Bongaigaon by Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, in the presence of Shri Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M); Amit K Asthana, Head of HR; Dr. Deepayan Paul, CMO; and other site and department officials. The CSR award was presented by Smriti Das, Executive (CSR/R&R/LA), while Sheeja Ambika Sasidharan, AGM (EMG), received and presented the Environment Award.
The national awards were originally presented at a formal ceremony in New Delhi on 12th and 14th June 2025, graced by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. Jagdish Mukhi (Former Governor of Assam), Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, (Former Secretary, DPE), Ravi Shankar Prasad, and K. Sharan, Chairman & CEO of Greentech Foundation, among others.
The Greentech Foundation Awards are presented annually to recognize organisations that exemplify sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and corporate social responsibility, thereby promoting responsible business conduct nationwide.
