One arrested with suspected ganja in Boko raid

PALASBARI, April 2: Acting on specific information, police conducted a raid at Deochar under Boko Police Station in Kamrup district under the supervision of the CDSP of Boko-Chaygaon.
During the operation, the police team searched the residence of one Prafulla Kalita, son of Ruhani Kalita, a resident of Deochar. In the course of the search, 2 kg and 157 grams of suspected ganja was recovered from his possession.
The contraband was seized in the presence of local witnesses, following due procedure. The accused, Prafulla Kalita, was subsequently arrested.
Police sources informed that all necessary formalities under the NDPS Act have been complied with. An FIR in connection with the case is yet to be registered.
