Kingfishers, fishing eagles, a multitude of ducks, Greater Adjutant Stork, Whistling Teal, Open Billed Stork, Shoveler, Pintail, Garganey, and a high concentration of Pheasant tail jacanas are among the most remarkable bird species present in the sanctuary. Herd Elephants from the nearby Rani–Garbhanga terrain pays us a visit every now and then. A forest department-built watchtower is located within the sanctuary.
