1. Chandubi Lake

Chandubi Lake is a natural body of water. Guwahati is 64 kilometres away from Guwahati. The lake is surrounded by Assam and Meghalaya at the foot of the Garo hills. The area is densely forested with little communities. It’s purely a vacation and picnic spot. It’s possible to spend 4 to 5 hours there.

The natural lagoon that has formed in the lake is its most prominent feature. Chandubi Lake is a popular tourist attraction, with many visitors flocking to the lake during the Chandubi Festival, which takes place in the first week of January. 2. Deepor Bil

Deepor Beel, a long-lasting freshwater lake, was home to rare bird species. The Assam government established the Dipor Bil or Deepor Beel Wildlife Sanctuary in 1989 to protect many species of birds that live near the lake in Guwahati, Assam.

Kingfishers, fishing eagles, a multitude of ducks, Greater Adjutant Stork, Whistling Teal, Open Billed Stork, Shoveler, Pintail, Garganey, and a high concentration of Pheasant tail jacanas are among the most remarkable bird species present in the sanctuary. Herd Elephants from the nearby Rani–Garbhanga terrain pays us a visit every now and then. A forest department-built watchtower is located within the sanctuary. Country boats are also available for bird watching, with prices ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 200 for a couple of hours.

3. Ranikamar

Cycling, beach games, shallow water swimming, and simply hide-and-seek are all activities that children can enjoy.

4. Tapoban

A sandy beach, the spot is just 22km from Guwahati city, A lovely area for a picnic with family and friends. They charge a fee for the picnic area, which includes shade and a trash can. Beautiful spot for clicking photos and watching the sunset over the Brahmaputra River. There are also parking places available. There are also a few small shops where you can acquire some picnic materials, Tents are available too.

5. Naziraghat

Situated in Sonapur, It’s a nice spot for a picnic, and one of the popular places listed under picnic grounds so anyone looking for a wonderful natural setting for a picnic, party, or another event. It is open for picnics from November to January. Many visitors come from all over the world to take part in the festivities. As you reach the location, the park is to the right and the museum grounds to the left. Tall trees, waterfalls, rocky, hilly terrain and 1000-year-old year Ganesha rock-cut sculptures.

6. Tagheria

Tagheria Waterfall, located in the Guwahati city, the natural beauty of the picnic spot is incredible. Set among the lush green hills, naturally formed waterfall at Tagheria, with its cool refreshing water cascading down. Shops are there to offer you different ethnic dishes and drinks.

7. Hatisila Picnic Spot

This beautiful place situated on Chandrapur road is an amazing riverside for a picnic. A Ganesh Mandir is also nearby. The elephant stone is the wow factor. Varieties of flowers bloom in the place and are another perfect place for a picnic.
