Guwahati, Assam | October 2025 — Purvca Foundation is pleased to announce the inaugural edition of Purvca Samvad 2025 – Conversations for Sustainable Urban Futures, scheduled to be held on Friday, 7th November 2025, at NEDFi Auditorium, Guwahati.
With the theme “Sustainable Urban Mobility: Public Transport, Walking & Cycling,” this unique one-day forum aims to bring together government officials, academicians, media, civil society, industry & mobility experts, students, and citizens to discuss and deliberate about Public Transportation, Walking and Cycling in the city and the region.
Purvca Samvad 2025 will feature panel discussions, spotlight sessions, and idea presentations focusing on key aspects of public transportation, impact of air quality, climate change on mobility choices, mobility justice and safe streets for walking and cycling.
“Our cities are growing fast — streets are becoming more congested, pollution levels are rising, and our environments increasingly unsafe. The way people move must change — towards safer, more inclusive, and low-carbon mobility options. Through Samvad, we aim to create a space where ideas can translate into meaningful action.,” said Arshel Akhter, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Purvca Foundation.
As part of the event, Purvca Foundation will also release its Women’s Perspective on City Buses in Guwahati report, highlighting challenges, user experiences, and recommendations for improving the city’s bus-based transport system. Additionally, an “Ideas for Mobility Solutions” segment will provide a platform for young minds and citizens to share innovative and practical solutions for addressing transportation challenges in the city.
