Railway Track Damaged, Train Reverted To Guwahati

With flood situation worsening in Assam, a railway track between New Haflong Railway Station and Jatinga Lampur Railway Station has been washed away.

Consequently, the Guwahati-Silchar passengers train, which was on its way to Silchar, has been reverted to Guwahati.

Hundreds of passengers, who are mostly daily wage labourers, were compelled to move on their own towards Silchar and Badarpur among 12 other train stoppages.

The rising flood waters which has been topped with incessant rains has adversely affected train services in the hills district.
