Rakul Preet Recalls Crazy Things She Did To Fit Into Bollywood

Bollywood star Rakul Preet is one popular actress considering the impact she’s made in the industry over her time in Mumbai.  However, for her, the journey didn’t really start in Mumbai itself, with the actress first trying out her luck in the South Indian film industry. Rakul made her debut in the Kannada film Gilli, which was said to be the remake of Selvaraghavan’s 7G Rainbow Colony.

The rest is history as the actress worked well in the industry as well as the one in Mumbai which is Bollywood.  Now, as you know, there is always a struggle involved in the path to stardom, and Rakul sure had her fair share.

This forced her to gain weight.

While speaking at Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s chat show Shape of You, Rakul shared, “When I debuted, Samantha (Ruth Prabhu) and Kajal (Aggarwal) were already stars, and they were fit. I think people became conscious about how they look on the screen because the content was being consumed everywhere.”

“When I came to Mumbai and I started auditioning at the age of 20, I was told that I will have to lose weight because that was the standard of Bombay. But I didn’t have access or understanding since I was a kid.”
