ROYAL GLOBAL SCHOOL, GUWAHATI TO HOST GRAND FINALE OF NANHI CHHAAN NATIONAL SCHOOL ESSAY CONTEST 2025
15 finalists from schools across 10 States to vie for top spot-50000 students from 225 schools located in every state participated this year
Guwahati, November 1st, 2025: Royal Global School will host the grand finale of the 12th Nanhi Chhaan National School Essay Contest 2025’ on Nov 3rd, 2025.
The last Eleven years have allowed approximately 4 Lac students in the country to write essays on socially important issues, information of which has been shared with 6500 schools in all States of the country. Over the years, the finals have been hosted by prominent schools, like The Doon School, Welham Girls and Boys schools, Navrachana International School, Vadodara, Vasant Valley School, New Delhi, The Scindia School, Gwalior and many other prominent institutions. Essay topics are drawn from priorities of the Nanhi Chhaan Foundation viz: Protecting girls and empowering women, planting trees and protecting the environment and promoting interfaith harmony.
The semi-finals of the contest will be held on November 2nd, wherein the shortlisted finalists will have to write an essay on a topic that will be shared on the spot. On November 3rd, a panel discussion will be conducted with the finalists, and on the basis of the overall assessment by jury members, the winners will be announced.
This year, over 50,000 children from every state of the country are participating in the contest and will have written an essay on the topic: “Girls and Women, a Force for Viksit Bharat?”. Two essays from each school were selected after independent assessment, and shortlisted essays were then assessed by professors of Delhi University & The Ashoka University.
It is a matter of pride for us that Sh. Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister of Communications and Minister of development of North East, has given his consent to be the Chief Guest at the event. The finals event will be graced by Mr. Harpal Singh – Chairman, Nanhi Chhaan Foundation; Mrs. Tejal Amin, Eminent Educationist and Industry leader from Vadodara, Mrs. Chanda Singh (author and publisher) from Delhi, Mr. Rajeev Dubey (Ex Tata Group and Mahindra & Mahindra) from Delhi and Mr. Sushil Salwan (Senior Supreme Court lawyer and Chairman, Salwan Group of Schools)) from Delhi.

Mr. Harpal Singh, Chairman – Nanhi Chhaan Foundation, said, “Ever since we started the Nanhi Chhaan National Essay Contest in 2014, we have received an overwhelming responsefrom schools and students across the country. We had started this contest to provide a platform for the youth to be aware about, engage on and subsequently advocate for some of the most fundamental issues facing our society today. We shall persist with our objective of reaching out to students across India to make them aware of the importance of critical aspects such as women empowerment, environment protection and promotion of secular values in our country.”
