Salman Khan Partners with Global Sikhs to Build Shelters for Assam Flood-Affected Families
Guwahati: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has joined hands with humanitarian organisation Global Sikhs to support families affected by the recent floods in Assam. The initiative focuses on providing semi-permanent shelters to those who lost their homes during the devastating floods that displaced thousands across the state.
Launched under the campaign titled “AASHIYANA: Hope Begins with a Safe Shelter,” the project aims to assist flood-hit families during the rehabilitation phase by offering safe and secure housing. With many affected communities continuing to struggle amid persistent rainfall and challenging living conditions, the initiative seeks to provide a sense of stability and dignity to those rebuilding their lives.
The campaign comes at a time when several districts in Assam are still grappling with the aftermath of severe flooding, which damaged homes, infrastructure and livelihoods. The proposed shelters are expected to serve as a crucial support system for families awaiting permanent rehabilitation.
This is not the first time Salman Khan and his charitable initiatives have extended support to Assam during times of crisis. Earlier, the Being Human Foundation, along with Salman Khan’s fan clubs, contributed to flood relief efforts by distributing food packets, medicines and other essential supplies among affected communities.
