Spider-Man: Brand New Day Opens to Record-Breaking Box Office in India

Guwahati, July 31: Spider-Man: Brand New Day has delivered a record-breaking opening at the Indian box office, becoming the biggest Hollywood opener in the country.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and starring Tom Holland and Zendaya, the Marvel film earned Rs 72.44 crore gross and Rs 60.60 crore nett on its opening day in India. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Spider-Man: Brand New Day surpassed the opening-day collections of Avengers: Endgame, Avatar: The Way of Water, and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.

The film also recorded strong theatre occupancy, with an overall occupancy rate of 56.58% on its first day. Night shows witnessed the highest turnout, indicating strong public interest.

Early estimates suggest that the film has already crossed Rs 1,000 crore in global collections. Released in India on July 30, a day before its US release, the film is expected to continue its strong box office run.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and features Tom Holland and Zendaya in the lead roles, along with Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Florence Pugh, Marisa Tomei, and Mark Ruffalo.
