Sumi Kalita Honoured for Excellence in Music and Community Service

Palasbari, June 2 – Acclaimed singer Sumi Kalita was felicitated today at her residence in Palasbari by BJP State Executive Member Anup Kumar Medhi in recognition of her outstanding achievements in music and her impactful contributions to community welfare.

Kalita recently garnered multiple honours at the Sanskritik Mahasangram, a premier cultural event hosted by the Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Assam. Further cementing her artistic credentials, she secured the second runner-up position in Sambhawana, a popular musical reality show aired on Doordarshan Guwahati.

Beyond her artistic pursuits, Kalita plays an instrumental role in grassroots social development through the Magic Bus India Foundation (MBIF), where she leads initiatives focused on youth empowerment and support for marginalized communities.
