Ten Students from Assam stranded in Ukraine returned home

At least ten students from Assam were among the first batch of Indian nationals evacuated from war-torn Ukraine as they landed at Mumbai and New Delhi on separate flights since late Saturday night.
While Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the arrival of two students at Mumbai on the first flight from Ukraine that touched down on Indian soil with the evacuees, another source said that two more students reached New Delhi early on Sunday on the next plane.”We welcome our students — Tanmayee & Siya, successfully evacuated from Ukraine and who have reached Mumbai just now,” Sarma tweeted late on Saturday night.
He said they were received by Assam Bhavan officials at Mumbai and all arrangements for their stay and free travel to Guwahati were being made.”Our teams will ensure all assistance to such students,” Sarma added.
Another source said that two more Assamese students were on the flight that reached Delhi early on Sunday.Two girls Tanmayee Parshar and Siya Das have reached Guwahati on Sunday morning. Both the girls who are residents of Guwahati were successfully evacuated from Ukraine and had reached Mumbai in the Air India flight at around 8 pm on February 26. They were received by Assam Bhawan officials and arrangements were made for their safe stay and free travel to Guwahati. The two girls landed at the Borjhar Airport in Guwahati by an Indigo flight from Mumbai this morning.

On the other hand, Himashree Kakati from Sualkuchi in Kamrup District and Daisy Basumatary from Guwahati’s Maligaon, both studying medicine Uzhhorod National University in Ukraine have been evacuated successfully from the country. They reached Delhi by an Air India flight at 9:15 am on Sunday where they were received by officials of the Assam Bhawan officials.
Meanwhile, Anurag Bhuyan from Gohpur in Assam’s Biswanath Chariali and Kritika Basant from Guwahati, both studying medicine in Bukovinian State Medical University (BSMU) in Ukraine, have been evacuated by the Ministry of External Affairs had arrived in Delhi at 3:15 am on Sunday. They were received by officials from Assam Bhawan.The first evacuation flight of Air India bringing 219 passengers mostly students landed at the Mumbai Airport at around 7.50 pm on Saturday.The students who have been evacuated are Tanmayee Parashar, Siya Das, Daisy Basumatary and Kritika Basant (Guwahati), Anurag Bhuyan (Gohpur) and Himashree Kakati (Sualkuchi).Meanwhile, the second and third flights bringing stranded Indian nationals back home carrying 250 and 240 passengers respectively had also arrived in Delhi on Sunday morning.
Another four students stranded in Ukraine have been evacuated by MEA.
They have arrived in New Delhi on Sunday at 6.05 pm and they were received by officials of Assam Bhawan, Delhi.They are: 1) Shamanay kr Sarmah from Nagaon,2) Angshuman Sharma from Nalbari,3 )Gunajit Kashyap from Kamakhya Dham and 4)Shajan Hazarika from Nagaon , They are studying medicine in TNMU Ukraine.
They will be staying in Assam House Delhi and their air travel from Delhi to Guwahati will be arranged accordingly.
