Eid-al-Adha celebrated in Assam with devotion and fanfare

The people from Islamic faith across various places of Assam celebrated Eid-al-Adha with much fanfare on Thursday.

They joined hands in prayer and festivities to mark this significant Islamic festival.

The day began with devotees flocking to mosques, wearing their finest attire and expressing their heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty. The air resonated with the melodious recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, and the spirit of joy and devotion enveloped the town.

The central event of the day was the special congregational prayer held at the Eidgah grounds in various placed of the state. Worshippers gathered to seek divine blessings and reflect on the significance of sacrifice and generosity.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of holy festival.

“Wishing a happy #EidAlAdha2023 to all.

May the spirit of peace and brotherhood guide everyone,” he tweeted.
