Two Renowned Artists Honored at Bihar State Art Awards 2025
A Moment of Pride for Assam and Guwahati
Guwahati today celebrates a historic moment of pride as two distinguished personalities with roots in Assam were honored at the prestigious Bihar State Art Awards 2025 held at Ashok Hall, Hotel Maurya, Patna. The grand ceremony was organized by the Department of Art, Culture & Youth, Government of Bihar.
Shri Kaushlesh Kumar, Art Teacher of Kendriya Vidyalaya IOC Noonmati, Guwahati, received the Radha Mohan Contemporary Art Emerging Award (2024–25). The award was conferred by Hon’ble Minister Shri Motilal Prasad Ji in the gracious presence of Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha Ji. This recognition is a matter of immense pride not only for Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Guwahati Region, but also for the entire state of Assam. Shri Kumar, dedicating this award to his students, has epitomized the true spirit of KVS—nurturing creativity, innovation, and excellence.
In the same ceremony, eminent Assamese folk and Bhojpuri singer Smt. Kalpana Patowary was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award for her extraordinary contributions to Bhojpuri performing arts. Her recognition on this national platform further strengthens Assam’s cultural identity and reflects the state’s vibrant artistic spirit.
The dual honor—one in visual art and the other in performing art—marks a golden chapter for Assam and Guwahati, showcasing the region’s rich contribution to India’s cultural panorama. Together, Shri Kaushlesh Kumar and Smt. Kalpana Patowary have brought laurels to Assam, inspiring countless students, artists, and art lovers across the nation.
