UGC grants 12(B) status to Bodoland varsity

The Bodoland University (BU) has been granted the 12 (B) status by the University Grants Commission (UGC). This would make the university eligible for Central assistance.

The university authorities received a communication from the UGC in this regard today. It may be mentioned here that recently a high-level UGC committee visited the University for assessing various facilities for students available in the institution. Dr Prahalad Basumatary, Registrar, Bodoland University BU) said the 12 (B) status will open up new avenues for development of Bodoland University.
He also thanked BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary, BTC Deputy Chief Kampa Borgoyari, Dr Kiran Hazarika, UGC member from North East including all civil organisations and others for taking special initiative to fulfill the much awaited hope of the people of this region and the student community in particular.
