WEBINAR ON : “ROLE OF THE NEW GENERATION IN PRESERVATION OF ART AND CULTURE”

GUWAHATI: A Webinar series on “Role of the New Generation in Preservation of Art and Culture” was organized from 10th to 12th of July, 2020, under the banner of Drenched by Anannya Mahanta, a Sattriya Dancer from Guwahati, Assam. It was a three day event comprising of six sessions amongst eleven invited speakers from various fields. The speakers included Nayanava Sarma, Himadri Sarmah, Snigdha Mahanta, Neelotpal Lahkar, Bhobishnu Goswami, Swapnil, Anjan Borah, Vicky Das, Tanuj Nath, Roopchanda Sarma, Uddipan Sarma and Suprotim Mahanta.

The main agenda of the Webinar was to popularize classical, folk, western dance and music amongst the younger generation of the state. The event witnessed many productive discussion sessions regarding the topics of theatre, filmmaking, anchoring, fine arts and cultural heritage as well. The webinar can be considered a massive success based on the digital footfalls, participation and the interactive sessions amongst the speakers invited and are now available for streaming on YouTube as well.

The event was co-hosted by Bhabarnob Baruah and Sharad Kamal Bezboruah. Drenched promised to organise similar events in the foreseeable future.
