Youth Arrested for Throwing Pork at Mosque in Guwahati

Guwahati, July 9: A shocking incident unfolded in Guwahati’s Panjabari area, where a youth, identified as Mridupawan Pathak(Nath), was arrested by Dispur Police for allegedly throwing a packet of pork at a mosque.

The act, captured on CCTV, sparked immediate public outrage and swift police action. According to officials, the accused’s motive appears to be rooted in personal revenge.

In a disturbing revelation, the packet reportedly contained a handwritten note bearing the name and phone number of a young woman. Preliminary investigation suggests that Pathak had earlier proposed to the girl, and upon rejection, he allegedly attempted to frame her in a communally sensitive act—potentially inciting social unrest.

The accused is currently in custody and being interrogated. Authorities have assured that stringent legal action will follow.

This incident has raised serious concerns over attempts to exploit communal fault lines for personal vendettas.
