100-ft tricolours to be installed at 75 railway stations.

The Railway Board has decided to install 100 foot high tricolor on 75 busiest railway stations across India, reports have claimed.

The deadline for the project is decided to be 31 December and out of the 75 station, seven will be among the Mumbai itself.

On the lines of national anthem being played in the film theaters, the government has now decided to install flags at the railway stations. “The Railway Board circular has directed that flags should have focus lights, and the Railway Protection Force has been tasked to safeguard it. The cost to install a flag will be around Rs 9 lakh considering the lights and other decorative pieces.”

A senior official said in a statement, “Whether it is portraits of freedom fighters or the national flag, the aim is to showcase the symbols of our country at public places.”

Ravinder Bhakar, the PRO of the Western Railway, said that the Railway Board, “We will do our best to meet the December deadline.”
