Amguri Girl Creates Record; Wins 10 Gold Medals

Angel Priya Saikia (8), daughter of Madhusmita Phukan Saikia and Partha Saikia (Akash) and a student of Don Bosco High School, Amguri, Sivasagar, set a record by winning a total of 10 Gold medals in Taekwondo (Poomsae, blocking, punching and fighting movements).

Notably, she won her first Gold medal (state level) at the tender age of 4. Besides being a black belt holder in Taekwondo, she has also won the best fighter prize in two events.

Earlier, she also bagged 2 Gold and 2 Bronze medals at Assam State Inter-Club Taekwondo Championship 2022 held recently at Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium, Guwahati. The India Book of Records honoured her for her incredible feat and awarded her with a certificate, a medal, a copy of the India Book of Records 2022, and a pen. Angel Priya Saikia has been training under the guidance of Master Raju Konwar of Assam Taekwondo Academy India, Amguri.
