33,995 ILPs issued in Manipur in January

IMPHAL, Feb 3 – Manipur has issued 33,995 Inner Line Permits (ILPs) in January.Manipur came under the ILP regime on January 1, 2020 with the publication of the same in the gazette of the State government on December 31, 2019.

As per an official report, 33,995 permits, including 14,848 regular and 18,794 temporary, have been issued last month. District-wise data revealed that Imphal West district issued the highest number of ILPs, which was 15,639, including 5,600 temporary permits, issued at the Imphal Airport.

Jiribam, the district bordering Assam, issued a total of 7,452 ILPs followed by Senapati district which issued 5,808 permits, all issued by Mao police station on the inter-State border with Nagaland.

The lowest number of ILP was issued by Kamjong district where only 27 permits were issued during last month.
