7-day lockdown in Manipur from today

With 45 new confirmed cases, the COVID-19 tally of Manipur has reached 2,060. The total active and recovered cases stand at 642 and 1,418, according to official sources.

Meanwhile, the Manipur Government today decided to impose a seven-day Statewide lockdown from 2 pm on July 23 to control the spread of COVID-19.

Announcing this at a press conference this evening, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said the lockdown might be extended by another week, if necessary.

Meanwhile, the Thoubal district headquarters and the main markets within the district wore a deserted look following imposition of a complete lockdown till July 27.
