AASU welcomes final draft of NRC, AIUDF chief smells conspiracy behind excluded 40.7 L

 

After 38 years of perennial struggle Assam is finally going to be an illegal migrant free state.

Expressing relief over the newly released NRC final draft, the president of All Assam Students Union Dr.Sammujjal Bhattacharya said, “It is sheer hard work and 38 years long struggle of the martyrs, who fought for an illegal migrant free Assam and their struggle finally paid off today”.

Dr.Bhattachrya also said, “It is only the first step towards an illegal migrant free Assam and still a lot has to be done in terms of warding off all the illegal immigrants from the state”.

He urged the government of Assam to seal the Indo Bangladesh borders and sign a bilateral treaty to ensure that no further influx of illegal migrants could take place in the country. Dr. Bhattacharya also appealed the people of Assam through Guwahati Times to cooperate throughout the process of NRC regarding claims and objection for the greater interest of public.

On the other hand, AIUDF Chief BadaruddinAzmal sharing his view on yesterday’s final NRC draft said that there was definitely some conspiracy behind the missing number of people from the NRC list. There might be politics in terms of bringing down the number of voters in the minority dominated areas behind the exclusion of people missing from the NRC list.

It will be important to mention here that according to the final report, atotal of 40, 07,707 people are missing from the final draft of NRC that was released yesterday.
