Alleged Sex Racket Busted at Guwahati Spa Parlour

GUWAHATI: A suspected sex racket operating under the guise of a spa parlour has allegedly been busted in Guwahati, raising concerns over the growing reports of prostitution-related activities in the city.

According to the report, the alleged racket was operating at D Miracle Unisex Salon & Wellness Centre in Lachit Nagar. Police reportedly arrested two individuals, including a husband-and-wife duo, along with another alleged associate in connection with the case.

The incident has once again brought attention to allegations that some businesses lure young women from different parts of Assam with promises of employment and subsequently push or coerce them into exploitative activities. Several such allegations and incidents have reportedly surfaced in the past.

The issue has raised concerns about the safety of young women seeking employment in Guwahati and the need for stricter monitoring of establishments operating as spas, salons and wellness centres.

Authorities are expected to investigate whether the accused establishment was involved in any form of trafficking, coercion or exploitation, and whether similar activities are taking place elsewhere in the city.
