Assam: Arunachal Man Held at ISBT Guwahati with Fake Currency Worth ₹2.45 Lakh
Guwahati: Assam Police apprehended a man from Arunachal Pradesh at the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in Guwahati after recovering fake Indian currency notes worth ₹2.45 lakh from his possession.
According to reports, the accused was intercepted during a police operation conducted at the ISBT premises. During the search, officials seized counterfeit currency notes amounting to ₹2.45 lakh.
Police sources stated that the accused was allegedly attempting to circulate the fake notes in the region. He was immediately taken into custody for further interrogation.
An investigation has been launched to determine the source of the counterfeit currency and whether a larger network is involved in the operation. Authorities are also probing possible links with interstate counterfeit currency rackets.
