Assamese Youtuber, Moto-Vlogger, and Biker Nicho Vlogs completed 12000 kilometres solo ride from Guwahati to Umlinga(and return) in just 50 days. He completed the ride with his Hero Xpulse 200cc 4v motorcycle and he is also the first person from the Northeast to ride to Umlinga, Thang, and Siachen Base Camp with this motorcycle(Xpulse 200cc 4v).
He named this trip ‘Dream Ride’ and his ride started from Guwahati on June 3, his first stop was in Siliguri, then he rode for around 1500km non-stop from Siliguri to Delhi, then Delhi to Mukerian, Mukerian to Srinagar, Srinagar to Dras, Dras to Panikhar, Panikhar to Padum, Padum to Leh(via Sirsir La Pass), then Leh to Hunder, Hunder to Thang(India’s Northernmost last village), Thang to Siachen Base Camp, Siachen to Pangong Lake, Pangong to Hanle(World’s 2nd Observatory), Hanle to Umling La Pass(Highest Motorable Pass), Hanle to pang via (Tanglang La Pass,17582ft), Pang to Manali via (Lachung La Pass, Nakula pass, Gata Loops (21Loops, Atal tunnel, etc). So, the Guwahati-Ladakh trip ended in around 20 days.
Next trip under the ‘Dream Ride’ started from Spiti valley-Manali to Kaza via (Kunzum pass- world’s deadliest road), Kaza to Nako via (Hikkim-world’s highest post office, Komic -world’s highest village and restaurant, Gue Village- 500 years old mummy of Sangha Tenzing), Nako to Shimla via (Nako lake), Shimla to Delhi.
Later explored parts of Delhi including Qutub Minar, India Gate, and Lal Quila.
Delhi to Agra (via Yamuna Expressway, Agra-Lucknow Expressway).
Then visited Agra fort, Fatehpur Sikri, and Taj Mahal.
Lastly, he started the Agra to Guwahati trip(1688 km) and arrived in Guwahati on July 22.
Throughout the journey, he explored seven states of India and shared his experience saying, “West Bengal is a good place, People are very good and helpful, the only thing I didn’t like is the price of Petrol is too high in comparison to other states.”
Speaking about Bihar, Nicho said, “Food in Bihar is good and cheap, I enjoyed my trip through the state. My rider friends asked me not to ride in Bihar at night, they alleged that it is risky to travel at night. But I personally want to share that I crossed Bihar at night and found it safe. People of Bihar are also very helpful.”
Speaking about Uttar Pradesh, he added, “It is too hot in UP. Other than that, everything was fine during the ride. I felt happy to ride in the 300 km expressway during my trip.”
Adding about Haryana, Nicho said, “I tasted their famous drink- Chikang, and also visited the Airplane Restaurant. If you ask me about my overall experience in Haryana, I will say that It was good.”
About Punjab, he said that one should not miss the Lassi in Punjab.
Speaking about Jammu and Kashmir, Nicho added, “The weather in J&K is amazing, yes it is cold! but very good to enjoy. People out there are very helpful. As I was doing solo-ride, I face various issues but I must say, everything was solved easily. The Security and Administration is good and they are also very helpful, I would also thank the Indian Government for that. I visited many places there, like, Banihal Tunnel, Dal Lake, Apple gardens, and Zojila Pass. I must say that Cherry is J&K is very tasty. The last thing I want to add is Roads are good.”
Adding about Ladakh, he said, “Ladakh is like heaven, the landscape is amazing, you will notice water crossings in between, yes the roads are a bit dangerous but it is very adventurous. I had some oxygen issues in some places, also faced a dangerous sand storm, visited the frozen river at Zanskar Valley, visited the India POK border viewpoint, visited Thang- India’s last village on the northern side, Sanduins, Siachen Base Camp, Meghdoot- the highest battlefield in the world, Pangong Lake, Umlinla- Worlds highest motorable road. Hotel room prices in Ladakh are a bit high, and food in maximum places is just boiled vegetables. Also, the houses are made of stones instead of bricks and cement. People of Ladakh are too good and helpful.”
