Objecting against the plot and the background of the movie, a leader of Bhartiya Janata Party has come up with his own reasons towards a ban upon the movie.

The Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starer love story Kedarnath is a tragic love story of a Muslim man and a Hindu pilgrim that has been shot on the backdrop of the huge natural tragedy that occured in Kedarnath a few years back .

Calling the movie a weapon of spreading love jihad, the BJP leader Ajendra Ajay urged the Central Board of Film Certification not to release the movie. The leader also threatened to hold severe protest if the movie was released, as according to him the purohits at large were upset at the portrayal of Kedarnath tragedy in a manner that hurt the sentiments of it’s people.

By setting a romantic love story against the backdrop of a huge tragedy that occurred at Kedarnath, a centre of faith for crores of Hindus, the filmmakers have shown great disrespect to the followers of the religion” said the B J P leader.
