BSF recovers country-made bombs and revolver in Assam; 752 kg cannabis seized from West Bengal

In yet another success in its crusade against crime at the Indo-Bangladesh border, in two different joint operations, troops of the Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force(BSF) with Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB)and Assam Police apprehended four smugglers and seized 752 Kg of cannabis from their possession on Saturday. Also, a country-made revolver and three country-made bombs have been recovered.

The team arrested them from the bordering area of Chhat Chhedarjhar, Kotwali, Coochbehar in West Bengal and others from the Kalpara village, Dhubri in Assam.

Acting on a tip-off, on Saturday, a team of the BSF troops along with NCB launched a special joint search operation in the houses of Narayan Sarkar(23) and Dulal Sarkar(23) of Chhat Chhedarjhar village close to the Indo-Bangladesh border and recovered 752 Kgs Cannabis from both the houses.

Apprehended contraband smugglers will be produced in Court by NCB for further legal action.

On the other hand, in another operation, acting on a tip-off, on Saturday, BSF troops of Border outpost Sialda of 67 Bn BSF along with Assam Police rep of Dharamsala under Dhubri district, Assam launched a special joint search operation in the houses of Saddam Ali(19) and Soheb Ali(30) in Kaimvasani village in the Dhubri district of Assam  and recovered a country made revolver from the house of Saddam Ali and three handmade bombs from the house of Soheb Ali.

Apprehended miscreants and seized weapons/ bombs have been handed over to Dhubri Police for further legal action.
